India marked the 77th Republic Day on 26 January 2026, commemorating the adoption of the Constitution in 1950.
President Droupadi Murmu unfurled the National Flag at Kartavya Path, New Delhi, followed by a 21-gun salute and National Anthem.
Chief guests: European Council President Antonio Costa and European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen.
This year’s parade emphasized “Vande Mataram – 150 years”, highlighting national unity, culture and defence advancements.
India showcased military strength including Rafale fighter jets, hypersonic missiles, tri-services contingents, and cultural tableaux representing states and ministries.
Operation Sindoor tableau and tributes to armed forces veterans were distinct features of the parade.
Republic Day celebrations were also held across state capitals and major cities with strict security cover.
