Launch of the ‘Board of Peace’ by U.S. President at Davos
U.S. President Donald Trump launched a new international initiative called the “Board of Peace” at the WEF.
The board is presented as a forum for global conflict resolution, initially focusing on ceasefire sustainability in the Israel–Hamas conflict and broader diplomatic engagement.
Representatives from about 19 countries, including Bahrain, Indonesia, Morocco, Turkey, and Saudi Arabia, joined the charter signing.
Some traditional U.S. allies, such as the UK and France, opted not to participate at this stage.
India was notably absent from the stage despite invitations; Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharifattended the ceremony.
Shortly after the launch, President Trump announced the withdrawal of Canada’s invitation to the Board of Peace, signaling diplomatic friction within the initiative’s outreach strategy.
